A Typographic Quest, Number 1

In 1964 Carl Dair began a new series of booklets for Westvaco called A Typographic Quest. The title of the first issue became the name of the series – and it also serves as an apt description of Dair’s lifelong pursuit of typographic excellence. Within three short years he wrote and designed six insightful booklets on typography. Like the five booklets he had previously produced for the E. B. Eddy Paper Company, these too became valued textbooks, widely appreciated for their clarity and practical approach.
