Technology and Canadian Printing: A History from Lead Type to Lasers

Transformation Series 3
This book is divided into four sections, reflecting four major periods of technological change: From Workshop to Factory, 1751–1880; Hand and Craft, 1880–1920; Letterpress Ascendant, 1920–1960; and Printers and Computers, 1960–1990. Each section is further divided into two parts. The first, subtitled Printing and Canadian Society, examines the role of printing within the historical and social context of each period, while the second explores the technological advancements that shaped the industry.
